MY LEGEND!

The Legend Begins....

I was born on Sunday, 5th January 1986, 5:00 am (that's what I heard) in Ahsan Clinic, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The day was a day of strike(hortal). I went to Iran when I was 1 yr old and stayed their until I was 4 yrs old when my parents left me in Bangladesh with my aunt and uncle (whom I still call Abba and Amma) and went back to Iran with my 40 days old little sister. ! A year later I was admitted in the Junior Laboratory School in UKG. The next year I got admission in the Government Laboratory High School, Dhaka. Meanwhile my parents kept on visiting me every year. When I was in Grade 3 they left their job in Iran and came back to Bangladesh. Half a year later, they came to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a further year later they took my sister and me with them. Since then, I lived in Saudi Arabia.

Life in Saudi Arabia

My life in Saudi Arabia began in a small town called Thadiq, situated 150km away from the capital city, Riyadh. I didn't go to school for half a year. Then I was admitted to Bangladesh International School, Riyadh. Well that meant that I had to cross 150km (almost 100 miles) to come to school (as I didn't move to Riyadh yet). So there was no other way but to come once a week and take all the lessons and worksheets to be done throughout the week and come again in the following week with everything ready. I had a very hard time because this was an English medium School and until then I studied in a Bangla medium School. People say that they never used to find me during the breaks because I was busy making up for my tests at those times. This continued for 2 yrs and then quite suddenly the school was closed because of objections made by parents against the Bangladesh Embassy, which was operating our school. The school was closed for 4 months. Meanwhile, quite suddenly, my mother was transferred to Riyadh and my father left his job in Thadiq and we moved in to Riyadh.

In Riyadh

So, when the school reopened, I started coming everyday. Everyone was surprised. It was then, that I actually started making friends over there. I wasn't such a good student in Bangladesh, but here my performance was beginning to rise. My sister was admitted in grade3 now. I had only 14 students in my class ( gr-7) and easily got the 4th position at the end of the year. Also that year I got a best behaviour award. In Grade8 I was assigned to become a prefect and maintain discipline. At the end of gr-8 I got awarded for the 1st position and a maintainer of discipline. The next year I was appointed as deputy head boy and 1st position again (but this time with 21 students in my class.) I was gifted with a family encyclopaedia. But the next year in gr-10 I had to leave my prefectship under my mother's order because of my IGCSEs (O-Levels). Well, I finished my IGCSEs and got 3A*s, 4As and 1B. Surprisingly, Saad also got exactly the same results, but in different subjects. The year ended quite tragically, during my vacation in Bangladesh, my uncle (my mother's elder brother) passed away (plz pray for the peace of his soul, everyone).

Grade 11

Then came the turning point in my life, A-Levels. I entered grade 11. Suddenly we became one of the senior guys in the school. This was the time that I broke Zahid's hand (wrist). I also had my best Science fair this year, because this time we demonstrated an LDR-controlled lamp, which turns off in light and turns on in the dark, which, although was my idea, would have all been useless without Saad's efforts (Thanks a lot dosto). The most amazing part is that I was reappointed the Deputy Head Boy!! But then another tragic event took place. In January this year, my beloved grandmom (mother's side) passed away (plz pray for the peace of her soul). Well, even after all that, I appeared for my A/S levels and got As in all 4 of my subjects(Bio, Phy, Chem and Maths). This meant that I passed onto grade 12 successfully. One of the best things that happened this year was that we got to go to a field trip after 3 years (Thank God!!).

Grade 12. . .

My last year at school. I thought that this would be a year full of emotions, but it had some unexpected dun waiting for me. Now we were the most senior guys and the respect we got was something really to be seen. We would walk around the campus and juniors would greet us all the time. This year we won the Inter-class Soccer tournament for the first time. It was this year's February that we founded INTRAFADE! On March 26th, we performed our first live show, with the song Juddho Shadhinota, which I wrote and composed the main tune of. The rap and other tunes were done by Artonam and Ishrak played a minor part in composing the interludes and guitar pieces. Man, I'll remember this the rest of my life, the way the audience cheered and encouraged us. Then came another moment of happiness as I was informed that I got accepted at ASU with a scholarship. My parents were overjoyed!! But then, came the moment of truth, GRADUATION. Each of us knew what this meant, that we would soon have to leave each other in search of our destiny. Our school arranged a Graduation Ceremony for us, where I presented (solo) one of my most popular compositions, called Jodi Ami. Just before I came to USA, the final tragedy in my life in Saudi Arabia took place, Saad's dad passed away (pray for the peace of his soul plz).

Well, the legend in Saudi Arabia somewhat comes to an end here. I got As in Physics and Chemistry and a C in Biology ( I don't know how) in my A- Levels. In the future, I plan to become either a researcher in Genetics or a Doctor depending on which field I get chance in. Of course, I am more willing to take up Genetics.

Today, I am studying at ASU in Tempe and the legend continues in The United States Of America. . .

Thank you for reading my legend. I hope you enjoyed it.
